More about Cryotherapy

Research has shows that cryotherapy is particularly effective in pain management following a surgery. According to Medscape, a study evaluated pain levels in two groups of post-surgical patients: those who received cryotherapy versus those who only used narcotic patin relievers. The morning after surgery, those who used cryotherapy reported an average pain level of 3.12 as compared to 4.86  for those who didn't.The discrepancies in the pain scores continued to increase as time elapsed after surgery. Plus, the group using cryotherapy was able to reduce their intake of narcotic pain relievers, lowering their risk of serious side effects.
